Internship Edhv 21/22

During his academic time Jeannot was an intern at Edhv, a renowned design studio in Eindhoven. They call themselves ‘Architects of identity’, because apart from design they go deeper into the project at hand. They are experts in shaping the identity and asking the right questions to come closer to the essence of the problem/company. During his time there Jeannot learned to ask the right questions and how to use the Jungian archetypes when building a concept.

He worked on two major projects of theirs, one is on-going and the other is: Digital Geology for the exhibition ‘Objects for a new kind of society’ by Dutch Invertuals.

In Digital Geology Edhv searched for the new meaning of digital objects. The blockchain and NFT’s were becoming a hype and they were exploring how a hobby like collecting rocks could be translated to a new future. Jeannot learned in this project how to use multiple design methodologies and what it means to research within a studio setting. (click here to see the project)

Apart from the two major projects Jeannot got to create what’s a ‘Vibe’ for the city of Eindhoven. Edhv took a big part in the creation of the city’s logo and has done work for the city ever since. The city-marketing account of Eindhoven posts one of these every now and then when for example introducing the new season. Jeannot, who has this logo tattoo’ed on his arm, was glad he got to create one. The one Jeannot created and came up with was to introduce winter, he choose a powerful electric looking vibe that resonated with the lightbulb and electricity past of Eindhoven.  It looks like the hot wire inside one of the bulbs which were invented in Eindhoven, however it also recognises the sparklers commonly used during NYE.
